What are Sharps?
Sharps are items that could cause cuts or puncture wounds, including needles, hypodermic needles, scalpels and other blades, knives, infusion sets, saws, broken glass and nails. Whether or not they are infected, such items are usually considered as dangerous healthcare waste.

Sharps Disposal
When you’re ready to safely dispose of sharps, they must be placed in a secure sharps container. AMS offers a variety of containers for sharps disposal. If the container is DOT PGII rated then it is approved by the DOT to be a stand-alone container and no secondary packing is needed. Otherwise, it must be placed in a red plastic bin that is DOT approved for transportation.
All waste will be collected in the necessary containers and taken for proper disposal in accordance with federal and state regulations. Our professional technicians adhere to the highest levels of safety and regulation compliance and will collect the medical waste with minimal interruptions to your operations.
